Christ-Janer grew up working on a farm in rural Minnesota and thus continued to take inspiration from those same landforms he worked on. His work portrays land from an aerial view, similar to looking down from space. The colors are also reminiscent of the land, using warm tones of orange, yellow, white, blue and green. The fluid and abundant line work juxtaposed with the granular, coarse and blot-like textures bring together the composition. In comparison to today's land formations, the work represents a time when people worked collectively with the land to succeed, not deface and exploit it.
