Jean-Pierre Bédarrides was born in Aix-en-Provence, France, in 1954.  He became interested in art at an early age, and pursued a career in technical drawing and advertising.  In 1985, he created his first exhibition, consisting of watercolor landscapes of Aix-en-Provence, and published a book on them the following year.  Being interested in chiaroscuro and still life, he began exploring oil painting, and after several trips to Morocco, he creates two exhibitions inspired by the country’s landscapes.  He began painting full-time in 1987.  In 2005, he published a second book, recounting his twenty years of painting.  He currently lives in Aix-en-Provence.
