Annette Cremin Byrne was born in the western suburbs of Chicago, and began producing art in the early 1920s.  She studied art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Chicago, the Art Students League from 1937-1937, and later from draftsman and figure painter Robert Brackman in Mystic, Connecticut from 1953-1960.  She was also an apprentice of Chicago sculptor Alfonso Iannello, and studied art at the New School in New York for several years as well.  Byrn taught at the Art Institute of Chicago and the North Shore Art League, but worked as a commercial artist for an advertising firm and a children’s book illustrator.  She also designed liturgical objects.  Byrne passed away on December 24, 1990 at the age of 92.
