Augustus Annus was born in Riga, Latvia. In 1949, he immigrated with his wife and son, the artist John Augustus Annus (1935-2013), to New York. The family settled in Brooklyn. He primarily painted with oil paints and his subject matter consisted of florals, portraits, and nostalgic Latvian coastal scenes. He passed away in 1984.
