Karen Abeita-Daw was born in 1960 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her mother, Lenora Nahoodyce Abeyta, was a Hopi, but she moved to Isleta pueblo when she married Isidor Abeita, Senior. Karen is best known for her pottery, which often incorporates birds and feathers. Her designs often combine geometric and organic shapes. Currently, she lives on the Hopi Reservation with her husband Darryl Daw.
