Miki Lee is a contemporary female painter. Although born in Korea, she has been living in the United States since the early 90s and began her artistic career here. She received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and then moved to Brooklyn, New York, where she set up her studio.
Lee’s career has been built upon a modern approach to line and repetition, though she refuses to use the same color twice in any painting. In her earlier works, Lee often worked on a horizontal or vertical plane, but since then has also incorporated more circular motifs in her paintings and utilized increasingly wavy brushstrokes. Her work continues to evolve and be shown in galleries across the United States.
