Antonio Botella Amorós was born in Alicante, Spain, in 1849. He attended the San Fernando Academy of Fine Arts on a pension granted to him by the Málaga Provincial Council, where he studied under Enrique Jiménez. Throughout the 1880s, Amorós participated in the National Exhibitions of Fine Arts, and in 1887 he received an award. In 1897, Amorós traveled to Rome to continue his artistic training. He served as a Professor of Drawing at the School of Mahón, and also at the Higher School of Arts and Industries of Madrid.

Amorós is best known for his still lifes and vases. Many of his works also dealt with themes of gender and landscape, utilizing color and composition masterfully. Amorós died in Madrid, Spain, in 1925.
